Lifestyle and Surfing Culture - A Travel Report
As beautiful as Switzerland is and as much as we love our mountains, sometimes we feel ourselves being pulled out to the vast, open seas. To new experiences and adventures:

After a short flight from Zurich to Bordeaux on Thursday evening we drove our rental car to Cap Ferret. In keeping with the motto of “more haste, less speed”, we enjoyed the wonderful parts of the region: The side streets that wind along the coast took us through picturesque coastal cities. And suddenly we found ourselves looking at a deep blue sea and an endless beach. Our long weekend was ready to begin!

We grabbed our surf boards and headed to the beach early in the morning. “Wow!” We were soon greeted by a great spot to surf with impressive dunes and a pristine, endless sandy beach. During the day we caught the perfect wave. And when we weren’t surfing and were in need of a little relaxation, we were always able to find a spot on the beach just for ourselves.

After the waves died down, it was time to explore our surroundings. We took the Velo on wonderful, long roads through pine forests and villages. A great way to discover some beautiful sights! Even when it’s hot, the forests are always cool and prove to be a place filled with many wonderful aromas.

But what would France be without the food! Every day, the hardest part was deciding what to eat: fine wine, fresh fish and - quite typical for this region - oysters! They say, “The French know how to live.” We couldn’t agree more!

And so our short trip to the Atlantic coast came to an end on Sunday evening. We took in the waves and the harmony of the sounds of the sea one last time before saying, “Au revoir et à bientôt !“
