Have you run out of steam? Need a breath of fresh air? Fly to Palma de Mallorca!
Although Palma de Mallorca’s windmills are no longer in use, you can’t imagine your holiday photos without them.

150 years ago, they ground grain and provided groundwater. Today however, these molinos are one of the most important symbols of the Balearic Islands.
The few windmills that still operate have been restored to function solely as water pumps. Palma de Mallorca’s only working water mill can be found at 'La Granja' manor, on private land close to Esporles.

The Bay of Palma is one of the windiest regions on the whole island, which explains the high concentration of windmills around the city. In the 17th century, they played a significant part in the development of Palma as a maritime trading centre for the Mediterranean. Today, they are what shape the island’s entire landscape.

Starting on 14 May 2015, there will be three flights a week to Palma de Mallorca from Bern, with a flying time of around 1.5 hours.
