A blend of sheer passion, skill, sportsmanship and excitement! Head to the Mecca of golf, the world-famous Wales Open played on the legendary Twenty Ten Course at the Celtic Manor Resort from August 29th to September 1st 2013.

The tournament in the Welsh town of Newport is always played in aid of a good cause – the organisation ISPS (International Sports Promotion Society) Handa hopes to encourage more visually and mobility impaired sportsmen and women to take up the game of golf, and they have made it their goal for golf to become accepted as a Paralympic discipline.

The Twenty Ten links course is a very special venue, purpose-designed and built in 2010 especially for the first Ryder Cup ever to be held in Wales.
Financed and built by Welsh billionaire Sir Terence “Terry” Matthews, the course stands out with its length of almost 6,800 metres, filled with sand and water obstacles.

Many of the golf stars from the European Tour such as Robert Karlsson, Miguel Angel Jiménez or Paul McGinley are expected to be there. Will 2012 winner Thongchai Jaidee also be there to defend his title?
The ISPS Handa Wales Open is the European team’s first qualifying tournament for the Ryder Cup, the most important team golf tournament in the world, to be held in Gleneagles in 2014. www.ispshandawalesopen.com
