Indian Summer in Bristol?
The summer of 2014 didn’t want to stick around in many places.
After a cold August in England with storms and rainfall, the English are hoping to have an Indian summer, as happened three years ago when temperatures at the beginning of October rose to almost 30 degrees.
Everyone loves a golden autumn – the time of colourful leaves, the rich warm yellow of the sun’s rays as they squeeze through the clouds, bringing a grateful smile to our faces.
Although bathing at this time of year only appeals to hardened swimmers, a walk along the wide beaches like in Weston-super-Mare can be beautifully relaxing. Or why not make a day trip by car from Bristol: stop off for a glass of cider at the Somerset Cider Brandy Company based in Taunton; in a couple of hours you will reach the town of Bideford, for example, where you have a wonderful view of Lundy Island located off the coast, opposite.
The island can only be reached by boat and in good weather, but once you have arrived, you can discover a place of true natural beauty. It’s not surprising that Lundy is known as England’s “Galapagos”.
