Calabria – source of health
Bathing is beautiful, bathing makes you feel better.
Even in ancient times, thermal baths were a meeting point for communication. They were used to pass the time and to recuperate from everyday stress. However there was a more important aspect to this leisure-time activity. The healing powers of the hot spring waters have traditionally been used as for therapy, treatment and even as a cure for illnesses.

Calabria’s thermal baths are situated in beautiful rural surroundings with perfect climatic conditions that build a sense of well-being and can contribute to a successful treatment.
We have selected several thermal spa locations for you:

The Terme Luigiane is situated in Acquappesa in the Calabrian province of Cosenza. Here, a range of springs from lukewarm to hot heal several disorders and deseases. The special fango therapies are very popular. www.termeluigiane.it

The Terme Caronte health centre is situated further south in the Lamezia Terme. For over 2000 years, sulphurous hot water with a temperature of 39° has been flowing from the Caronte spring. The water, also called the “netherworld river” flows both below and above ground to the spas. www.termecaronte.it

Located on the southern tip of the Reggio di Calabria, you can enjoy the beneficial spring waters at the Grand Hotel Galatro Terme. The thermal spring complex is located in a beautiful valley. The healing spring Sant’Elia flows down from its source in a gorge on the Livia Mountain, approximately 2 km distant from Galatro. The temperature is 37°C; the water contains sulphur, salt and iodine. www.grandhotelgalatroterme.it

The recuperation begins already with our flight in the Fokker 100 from Zurich to Lamezia Terme each Tuesday, Friday and Sunday.
