From dizzying to breath-taking
Natural wonders are often closer than you think: near Bristol in Somerset, only two hours from Zurich by plane, at the end of the largest canyon in England, you will find the Cheddar Gorge caves:

The first of them, Cox’s Cave, was discovered in 1837, followed by Gough’s Cave approx. 50 years later. Interconnected chambers along underground streams lead through the porous limestone. The stalagmites and stalactites that formed over millions of years present themselves in the colours rust-red and green to grey, defined by the minerals iron, manganese or lead.
The Cox Cave is smaller and more mysterious than the Gough Cave. Here you can discover glittering water basins and magnificent stone formations. However, Gough’s Cave is slightly more famous, as the oldest human skeleton in England was found here, “Cheddar Man” named after the nearby village.

This natural phenomenon can be viewed from April to September.
You can expect to find an underground adventure full of magic and wonder.
